Swiss award-winning composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Liam Phan began his musical journey through soundtrack projects and piano compositions. His creative approach reflects the styles that shaped him from childhood, including classical, neoclassical, jazz, and electronic music. Embracing the wide range of sounds offered by both analog and digital instruments, Liam crafts harmonies and rhythms that elevate films and commercials. In 2021, he scored his first film project, What If, followed by Paloma and Watchers. These films evoke a personal, intimate atmosphere and have taught him the profound power of minimalism in music.
Born on January 17, 2000, Liam started playing the piano at age seven, inspired by the film August Rush. His early musical foundation included classical works by Chopin, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff, though he later explored other styles in college. At 14, he composed his first soundtracks, using advertisements as his creative canvas. Soon after, he was introduced to jazz and improvisation by the renowned pianist and composer Moncef Genoud during his studies. Liam also discovered his love for string instruments while attending the Geneva Conservatory as part of his high school education.
Liam’s debut solo album, Entropy, is scheduled for release on November 20, 2023. This neoclassical work invites listeners on a deep, introspective musical journey through his captivating compositions.
